With the Ministry of Tourism, bringing marina management from a problem to operational data
In a marina, daily management consists of arrivals and departures, berth occupancy, access, service vehicles, and attendance to be monitored in real time.
For marina managers and the Ministry of Tourism, having a reliable view of what happens in the port is a prerequisite for improving operational efficiency, safety, and reception quality.
In complex contexts like Italian marinas, even small inefficiencies in managing occupancy and attendance translate into lost time, inefficient resource use, and difficulties in ensuring control and traceability.
The Shared Challenge
It wasn't enough to just census the berths. The real challenge was to monitor effective occupancy in real time and track the movements of boats and service vehicles, obtaining precise data to support strategic and operational decisions, both locally and nationally.
Operational Resolution
Within the collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Ulisses initiated a digitalization project based on operational localization. The project included the installation of a network of sensors for monitoring berth occupancy and tracking service vehicles.
The solution allowed for collecting and analyzing data on: real-time occupancy, attendance history, access flows, and resource usage, all visualized on a unified dashboard for data-driven management.
